The Housing Authority of Bexar County provides affordable housing in decent and safe conditions. We are stewards of Public Funds & Trust, serving all customers with respect and compassion. Our team guides participants in becoming economically self-sufficient, and improves the livelihood of citizens who are in need within the City of San Antonio and the County of Bexar.
HABC was created on September 3, 1975, by the Bexar County Commissioners Court. A Board of Commissioners was appointed to oversee policies and procedures administered by the Executive Director. HABC’s primary objective is to provide rental assistance to income-eligible households and to provide improved living conditions in Bexar County.
